Indian matchmaking for NRI families in TanzaniaFor Gujarati business families in Tanzania

Pavitra Rishta is an offline marriage bureau in Kolkata, founded in 2006 by Sunil Kejriwal and Priyanka Kejriwal. For Indian families in Tanzania, we search for matches among Gujarati, Jain, Lohana, Punjabi and Marwari families in Tanzania, India, Kenya, the UK and other countries. Gujarati trading families, including Jain and Lohana families, have lived on the East African coast for generations, and Dar es Salaam remains the centre of the community today. India is two and a half hours ahead of Tanzania, so a first video call fits easily into both working days. Parents in India can meet us at our Kolkata office. NRI families choose the Elite or Signature package.

Because the community within Tanzania is close-knit, many families prefer a wider search, and your details go out only with your permission. Our matchmakers speak Gujarati, and your Relationship Manager calls you with each profile after speaking to the other family.

Gujarati, Jain and Lohana families in Tanzania

Indian merchants traded along the East African coast long before modern Tanzania existed, and Gujarati families built businesses in Dar es Salaam, Zanzibar and the towns inland. Jain and Lohana families are part of this long-settled community, alongside Punjabi families and newer professionals from India.

Today most Indian families live in Dar es Salaam, with others in Arusha, Mwanza and Dodoma. In a small community many families already know one another, so parents often want matches from Kenya, India or the UK too. They also ask whether a match would be happy to live in Tanzania and join a family business.

Dar es Salaam
The commercial capital and home to most of Tanzania's Indian families.
Arusha
A northern business town with a settled Gujarati community.
Zanzibar
Where Indian traders were part of coastal commerce for generations.
Lohana and Jain families
Gujarati business communities long established across East Africa.
Families in Kenya and the UK
Close relatives in Nairobi, London and Leicester often widen the search.

These are only some of the places. We serve families in every part of Tanzania.

How families in Tanzania work with us

The first meeting is a video call, timed for both countries, or relatives in India can come to our Kolkata office at 174, C.R. Avenue. On the Elite package, Saket Kejriwal meets your family personally, and on Signature, founder Sunil Kejriwal does.

Your Relationship Manager then calls you with each shortlisted profile, after speaking to that family first. When both sides agree, we arrange the family meeting, in Tanzania, India or on video, and stay involved until both families decide. Membership is valid for 12 months.

Questions from families in Tanzania

Can you find a Lohana match for my daughter in Dar es Salaam?

Yes. Lohana and other Gujarati families are among the communities we work with, and our matchmakers speak Gujarati. We search among families in Tanzania, Kenya, India, the UK and other countries, and speak to each family before sharing their biodata with you.

What is the time difference between Tanzania and India?

India is two and a half hours ahead of Tanzania, with no daylight saving in either country. Our office works Monday to Saturday, 10 am to 7 pm IST, which is 7:30 am to 4:30 pm in Dar es Salaam, so a call during your working day is easy.

Which package can a Tanzanian family take?

Families living outside India choose the Elite package (₹5,51,000) or the Signature package (₹12,00,000), plus 18% GST, valid for 12 months. Signature adds international search, a personal matchmaker, concierge support and priority profile selection. Both include a dedicated Relationship Manager.

Will a family in India agree to send their daughter to Tanzania?

Some will and some will not, which is why we ask before sharing any profile. Your Relationship Manager explains where the couple would live and what the family business involves, and shares only profiles where the other family is open to it.
