Indian matchmaking for NRI families in MalaysiaFor north Indian families settled in Malaysia

Pavitra Rishta is an offline marriage bureau in Kolkata, founded in 2006 by Sunil Kejriwal and Priyanka Kejriwal. We help Indian families in Malaysia find a match for their son or daughter among Punjabi, Sindhi, Gujarati, Marwari and Jain families in Malaysia, India and abroad. Most of Malaysia's Indian community is of south Indian origin, so north Indian and western Indian families often find the right match harder to reach locally. That is where a wider search helps. Malaysia is two and a half hours ahead of India, so the first meeting is a video call. Parents in India can meet us at our Kolkata office. NRI families choose the Elite or Signature package.

Each package includes a dedicated Relationship Manager who calls you with every profile, after speaking to the other family first. Our matchmakers speak Hindi, Punjabi, Gujarati and English, so parents in Malaysia and grandparents in India can talk in the language they find easiest.

Punjabi, Sindhi and Gujarati families in Malaysia

Punjabi Sikh and Hindu families have lived in Malaysia for generations, and Sindhi and Gujarati traders are well known in the textile business. In recent years, many professionals from India have also moved to Kuala Lumpur and Penang for work in technology, banking and oil and gas.

For these families the search usually reaches beyond Malaysia, to India, Singapore and further. Parents ask whether a match will move to Malaysia, whether their child will move to India, and how both families will meet. We discuss all of this with you before the search begins.

Kuala Lumpur
Home to most professional families, with Brickfields known as the city's Little India.
Jalan Masjid India
An old Kuala Lumpur shopping street known for Indian textile traders.
Penang
A long-established Indian community with links to the island's trade.
Punjabi families
Settled in Malaysia for generations, often looking for matches in Punjab and Delhi too.
Professionals from India
Young people on work assignments, with parents still in India.

These are only some of the places. We serve families in every part of Malaysia.

How families in Malaysia work with us

The first meeting is a video call at a time that suits both countries. Parents or relatives in India can come to our Kolkata office instead, and we keep both sides of the family in touch with each other. On the Elite package, Saket Kejriwal meets your family personally, and on Signature, founder Sunil Kejriwal does.

After that, your Relationship Manager calls with each shortlisted profile, with biodata and photos. You see only the few that fit. When both families agree, we arrange the meeting, in person or on video, and follow up with both sides afterwards.

Questions from families in Malaysia

Can you find a Punjabi match for my son in Kuala Lumpur?

Yes. Punjabi is one of the languages our matchmakers speak, and Punjabi families are one of the communities we work with. We search among families in Malaysia, India and other countries, and your Relationship Manager speaks to each family before sharing any biodata with you.

What are your working hours in Malaysian time?

Malaysia is two and a half hours ahead of India. Our office is open Monday to Saturday, 10 am to 7 pm IST, which is 12:30 pm to 9:30 pm in Malaysia. We call back every enquiry within 24 hours, so leave a message at any hour.

Which package should a family in Malaysia take?

Families living outside India choose the Elite package (₹5,51,000) or the Signature package (₹12,00,000), plus 18% GST, valid for 12 months. Signature is the one with international search, a personal matchmaker, concierge support and priority profile selection. Both include a dedicated Relationship Manager.

Will Indian families accept a match who has grown up in Malaysia?

Many do, especially when the families share language, food habits and values. We are clear in the profile about where your son or daughter grew up and where they want to live, and we speak to the other family about it before sharing anything.
